Lesson JR.2: Typing/Skill Test Guidance

Introduction:
SSC Junior/Clerical exams require candidates to qualify typing or skill tests. Proper preparation ensures speed, accuracy, and confidence during the exam.


1. Typing Test

  • Speed Requirement:

    • English: 35 WPM

    • Hindi: 30 WPM (Unicode typing)

  • Accuracy: Must type without errors

  • Software: Practice on MS Word, online typing tools, or custom software


2. Skill Test

  • Data Entry: Quick and accurate input of text or numbers

  • Spreadsheet Tasks: Basic operations in MS Excel like sum, average, formulas

  • Document Formatting: Apply headings, bullets, tables, and alignment


3. SSC Tips

  • Practice daily 20–30 minutes for typing speed

  • Learn shortcuts for copy, paste, undo, formatting in MS Word/Excel

  • Simulate exam conditions while practicing

  • Avoid looking at the keyboard; focus on home row typing technique
