Lesson 3.3: Paragraph Formatting and Page Setup
In this lesson, you’ll learn how to organize and format paragraphs and prepare your document’s layout for professional printing or presentation.
🔸 Paragraph Formatting Options (Home Tab):
| Option | Function |
|---|---|
| Alignment | Align text: Left, Center, Right, or Justify |
| Line Spacing | Adjust space between lines (1.0, 1.5, 2.0 etc.) |
| Spacing Before/After Paragraph | Add space above or below paragraphs |
| Bullets & Numbering | Create itemized or numbered lists |
| Shading | Add background color to a paragraph |
| Borders | Add lines around a paragraph or section |
🔹 Using Bullets and Numbering:

Select the text list

Click on Bullets (•) for unordered lists

Click on Numbering (1, 2, 3) for ordered lists

Customize using the dropdown options
🔸 Using Indentation:

Increase Indent: Move paragraph to the right

Decrease Indent: Move paragraph to the left

Shortcut: Use the ruler for precise control
🔹 Page Setup (Layout Tab):

| Margins | Set space around the edges of the page |
| Orientation | Portrait (vertical) or Landscape (horizontal) |
| Size | Set paper size (A4, Letter, etc.) |
| Columns | Split text into 2 or 3 columns |
| Breaks | Insert page or section breaks |
