Lesson 2.3: System Settings (Mouse, Date/Time, Display)

Operating systems allow users to customize their computer through System Settings. These settings help in making the computer more user-friendly and comfortable to use.

You can change how the mouse behaves using the mouse settings.

Common options:

  • Pointer speed: Control how fast the pointer moves

  • Primary button: Switch between left-hand and right-hand use

  • Double-click speed: Adjust how fast you need to double-click

  • Pointer style: Change the look of the mouse pointer (arrow, hand, etc.)

🕒 2. Date and Time Settings

Setting the correct date and time is important for file saving, updates, internet access, and more.

You can:

  • Change the date, time, and time zone

  • Enable automatic time update via internet

  • Choose to display time in 12 or 24-hour format
