Banking exams in India typically have two stagesPrelims and Mains. Some exams also include an Interview stage (mainly for PO/Officer positions).

1. PO / Officer Exams

  • Prelims (Objective):

    • Reasoning Ability: 35 Questions

    • Quantitative Aptitude: 35 Questions

    • English Language: 30 Questions

    • Duration: 60 minutes

  • Mains (Objective + Descriptive):

    • Reasoning: 45 Questions

    • Quantitative Aptitude: 35 Questions

    • English Language: 35 Questions

    • General Awareness / Banking Awareness: 40 Questions

    • Descriptive English (Letter / Essay): 30 Minutes

    • Duration: 2 hours

2. Clerk / Assistant Exams

  • Prelims (Objective):

3. Syllabus Overview:

  • Quantitative Aptitude: Number System, Simplification, Ratio & Proportion, Profit & Loss, Time & Work, Time, Speed & Distance, Data Interpretation, Algebra, Mensuration.

  • Reasoning Ability: Puzzles, Seating Arrangement, Syllogism, Coding-Decoding, Inequalities, Input-Output, Direction Sense.

  • English Language: Grammar, Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, Cloze Test, Para Jumbles, Sentence Correction.

  • General Awareness / Banking Awareness: Banking Terms, RBI Policies, Financial Awareness, Current Affairs, Static GK.

  • Computer Knowledge: Basics of Computers, Internet, Digital Banking (for certain exams).
